Hardee Work Camp Release Context
Hardee CI Work Camp is an FDC satellite unit at the same Bowling Green complex as the main institution. It is not Hardee County's jail, a county work-release program, or an independent local detention operator. People assigned there remain state prisoners with DC numbers and FDC incarceration records.
The official 2021 PREA audit describes a distinct six-acre Work Camp component within the Hardee CI site. That physical distinction does not create a different release database. FDC follows the person across its institutions and satellite units. The public search is keyed to the individual and DC number, not to a standalone Work Camp release feed.
A genuine release from state incarceration can lead to the community, post-prison supervision, or another authority's custody when a hold or detainer applies. The actual FDC release record and any receiving-agency data establish the path. A facility label alone cannot do so.
Search Hardee Work Camp Releases

- Check Supervised Population for a later status, office, and termination date.
The Inmate Population record remains useful when the person was moved from the Work Camp. A current main-unit or new-institution location means state custody continues. The Hardee County released-inmate routes help separate this state search from HCSO's county system.

Hardee Work Camp Transfer Records
Work Camp movement needs careful wording because the unit is part of a larger prison complex. A person may return to the Hardee CI main unit without leaving FDC custody. The person may also transfer to another FDC institution. Neither event is a discharge, even if the Work Camp is no longer shown as the location.

If another authority takes custody, departure from FDC does not necessarily mean return to the community. Record both the FDC release event and the next custodian when the source provides that link. A no-location result without a matched release history is not enough.

For a document not available through the public search, submit a focused request through the FDC public-record request channel. Include the DC number, full name, the Work Camp or Hardee CI assignment, approximate date, and the exact release or movement record sought. FDC may redact or withhold confidential material under applicable law even when selected offender data are public.
Hardee Work Camp Release Dates
A currently incarcerated person may have a Tentative Release Date in the FDC population detail. Florida Statutes section 944.275 defines that state projection. FDC begins with the sentence expiration framework, applies lawful jail credit, and calculates the projected custody-release date from gain-time granted or forfeited.
For most modern covered offenses, ordinary gain-time cannot move release earlier than the point when 85 percent of the imposed sentence has been served. Qualifying time physically incarcerated and credited by the court counts toward the floor. The rule does not promise release at that point. Mandatory minimums, consecutive terms, life sentences, and other limits can require more.
A Work Camp assignment does not change the statutory framework. The TRD may move after gain-time action, discipline, a corrected judgment, amended jail credit, a new sentence, an escape interval, or another lawful calculation. Two Hardee County Release Systems
Hardee County's name appears on both a local detention facility and a state correctional complex. HCSO runs the Hardee County Detention Facility in Wauchula. FDC runs Hardee CI and its Work Camp in Bowling Green. This local overlap creates a common search error.
County releases use HCSO booking-and-release records and the Hardee Clerk case. State-prison releases use FDC Inmate Release Information and, when applicable, Supervised Population. The county jail may hold people before trial or for county sentences. The Work Camp holds state prisoners within FDC's system. HCSO's app is not evidence of a Work Camp discharge.
The release calculation differs too. County-prisoner good conduct falls under a separate statute and local implementation. Hardee CI Work Camp follows FDC's state-prison calculation. A county-approved release time has no role in a Work Camp release, and the county's misdemeanor probation department is not the post-prison supervision office for an FDC case.

That relationship explains why the shared complex contact is useful, but the person-specific FDC record remains the authority for location, movement, and release. A directory entry confirms the facility. It does not confirm that any named person was housed there on a given day or later released.
Audit-era design or population numbers should not be treated as current. The facility's current operational profile can change, while a release record remains person-specific. For release verification, the DC number and FDC event history carry more weight than an old capacity figure.
When an older incarceration episode is not clear in the public search, a narrow FDC record request can seek the relevant incarceration or movement history. Include the DC number and date range. Ask for the release event separately from a unit assignment so an internal move is not mistaken for discharge. FDC's monthly public OBIS extracts can also support research across older state releases, but the nightly public search is the better first source for a recent event.
Hardee Work Camp Post-Release Status
A person may leave the Work Camp and later appear in FDC Supervised Population under parole, conditional release, probation, community control, or another state status. Read the supervision type, status, office, effective date, and termination date. Do not merge the prison release date with the supervision discharge date.
FDC Office 105 in Wauchula handles state and felony supervision in Hardee County, but the record and issued reporting instructions determine the assigned office.
