Hardee Correctional Institution Releases

Hardee Correctional Institution holds adult men in Florida state custody. A true release means the person leaves FDC incarceration under a recorded state release event. The next step may be return to the community without FDC supervision, placement on parole or conditional release, another form of community supervision, or custody by another authority when a lawful detainer applies. The public record must show which event occurred.

A change from Hardee CI to another FDC institution is a transfer. It is not a release. Movement between the main institution and its Work Camp is also an internal FDC movement. 2. Enter the six-character DC number when known. Otherwise search by first and last name and include aliases when needed.
3. Match the DC number, identifying details, photo, convictions, county or case, and incarceration history.
4. Read the release date and release type or status in the selected state record.
5. Search Inmate Population if the person may still be incarcerated at Hardee CI or another FDC institution.
6. Search Supervised Population when the release record suggests that community supervision followed.

Hardee Correctional Institution Contact

The institution can address current facility matters, but FDC's Bureau of Admission and Release is the direct contact for an unclear state release date or status. Central Records handles public-search issues. A focused inquiry should include the DC number, full name, and the exact field in question.

For a record not supplied by the public database, use the FDC public-record request route. Florida public-record law allows access to nonexempt agency records, but selected public search fields do not make the entire internal offender file open. FDC confidentiality rules, redaction, and other legal limits still apply.

A useful request identifies one state-custody episode and one record type. Ask for the release history, movement record, or calculation field tied to the named person and DC number. State the approximate date and explain which public entry needs clarification. Broad requests can require more retrieval and review, while a precise request helps the custodian locate the maintained record. If part of a responsive document is exempt, Florida public-record law generally permits the agency to redact that part and produce the rest when the records are otherwise open.

Do not send a Hardee CI release correction to HCSO merely because the prison is in Hardee County. FDC created the state institution, sentence, location, and release fields. A court order that changes the sentence or jail credit should be supplied to FDC with the inquiry so the agency can compare its computation with the authoritative order.

Hardee CI Transfers Versus Releases

Institutional movement is the most important local distinction. Hardee CI and its Work Camp share the same FDC complex, but a person may be reassigned between them. FDC may also transfer a person to another state institution for classification, programming, medical needs, security, or other operational reasons. The incarceration remains active through those moves.

A detainer can also affect the destination. A person may leave FDC custody and enter another agency's custody. The release record and receiving-agency information should be read together before anyone describes the event as return to the community.

Hardee CI Tentative Release Dates

Florida calls the public state-prison projection a Tentative Release Date, or TRD. Under Florida Statutes section 944.275, FDC establishes a maximum sentence expiration date and then calculates the TRD from gain-time granted or forfeited. Lawful jail credit can affect the base calculation.

For most covered modern offenses, gain-time cannot move release earlier than the point at which the person has served 85 percent of the imposed sentence. That is a floor, not a promise of release at exactly 85 percent. Mandatory minimums, life terms, consecutive sentences, and offense-specific rules may require more. Some records do not have a conventional tentative date.

The TRD can change after gain-time awards or forfeitures, a corrected sentence, amended jail credit, a new sentence, an escape interval, or another lawful computation event. Two Hardee County Release Systems

Hardee County has two very different correctional settings. HCSO operates the Hardee County Detention Facility in Wauchula. FDC operates Hardee Correctional Institution and its Work Camp in Bowling Green. They share a county name, but not an operator, population, release calculation, or search system.

A local arrest or county sentence stays with HCSO and the Hardee Clerk unless the record shows transfer to FDC. A state-prison sentence belongs in FDC's Inmate Population and Release Information systems. County gain time under section 951.21 is not the state-prison calculation under section 944.275. HCSO's app cannot establish release from Hardee CI, and the FDC search may have no record for a county-only stay.

This distinction also controls corrections. HCSO can address a county booking timestamp. FDC can address a Hardee CI location, TRD, or state release record. Sending the issue to the source agency is faster and protects the separation between two custody episodes that may involve the same person.

Hardee CI Post-Release Supervision

After a true state-prison release, check FDC Supervised Population when parole, conditional release, probation, community control, or another state-supervised status may follow. Match the DC number and read the type, status, office, effective dates, and termination date. Release from prison does not mean supervision has ended.
